SFI RULES & REGULATIONS / ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA - 2026

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

 

"Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" is a three-phase program open to North American singer-songwriters and solo artists of Italian heritage (supporting musicians may also participate at their own expense — see complete rules and regulations). The program consists of a Live Showcase, European Music Industry Introduction, Artist Preparation & Educational Programming in Canada, and Performances, Education Symposium, Masterclass, and Cultural Heritage Tour in Italy.

Phase 1 - Online Submissions & Selection Process

North American Artists of Italian heritage are to complete the online submissions, which are reviewed and evaluated by a panel of music industry professionals. From these submissions, Ten (10) standout artists will be  selected to advance to Phase 2.


Phase 2 - SFI Live Showcase, European Music Industry Introduction, Artist Preparation & Educational Programming (Toronto – Pre-Italy Departure)
This phase features the selected North American musical artists of Italian heritage showcasing their talent live, at the “Sing For Italy Live Showcase” in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. Through live performance, music industry introductions, and professional development and educational programming, participating artists will be further evaluated and prepared for international performance and engagement.


Phase 3 - ITALY: Performance Opportunities, Music & Cultural Educational Workshops & Cultural Heritage Tour. 

​​​​​Selected Artists will have the opportunity to participate in an all-expenses-paid experience to travel to Italy and perform on well-known Italian stages and events, including, but not limited to, the iconic Teatro Ariston in Sanremo or Piazza Castello in Ferrara. They will also benefit from an all-inclusive media campaign to promote their brand throughout the Italian journey. 
 

Artists will also take part in a meticulously curated Heritage Tour, immersing themselves in Italy’s rich history, cuisine, and traditions—an unparalleled cultural experience that fosters a deep connection to their Italian roots and helps keep their heritage alive for generations to come.

COMPLETE PROGRAM RULES
 


ARTICLE 1. EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: 

 

“Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" is a production of Celebrating Heritage In The Arts (C.H.I.A.) Inc., d/b/a Sing For Italy, 95 Earl Street, Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada, L9Z 2M6 (the “Producer”).   
 

This Program is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and any other social media platforms unless explicitly stated by the Executive Producer.

ARTICLE 2. ELIGIBILITY:
 

a) The Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" is open to singer-songwriters and solo artists who:
 

  • Are legal residents of Canada or the United States

  • Are at least 25% of Italian descent

  • Are between 16 and 35 years of age

  • Are 16 years of age or older by June 1, 2026

  • Are unsigned or self-released (no active major or independent label contracts) 
    C.H.I.A. Inc, reserves the right to deny eligibility based on an individual’s label


Proof of age, residency, identity, and Italian heritage may be requested at any time. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification.

b) Submissions are limited to 1 per artist (2 original songs per submission). This is a limited opportunity, only 250 submission spots are available.


c) Minor Participant Travel Requirement
Selected participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for all travel to and from Italy. All travel, accommodation, and related expenses for the accompanying parent or legal guardian are the sole responsibility of the parent or legal guardian. The Executive Producer will cover approved expenses for the minor participant only, as outlined in the official program guidelines.

Please Note: Only participants 16 and older by June 1st 2026 will be eligible.


d) Employees of the Executive Producer, its parent, related and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, departments or agencies, franchisees, suppliers, advertising and promotional agencies, "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" administrators, and any other parties engaged in the development, production or  distribution of "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" materials and those living in the same household are prohibited from entering.

e) Executive, shareholders, board of directors, service providers, and employees of Celebrating Heritage In The Arts C.H.I.A.Inc and Sing for Italy,  ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ADJUDICATION PROCESS


f) By participating in this program, all participants acknowledge compliance with, and agree to be bound by, these program rules. Entrants who do not comply with any of the rules are subject to disqualification at the Executive Producers sole discretion.


g) Participants must hold a valid Passport and be willing to travel overseas for approx 3 weeks. (Subject to a few days + or -)

ARTICLE 3. PHASES: DEADLINES, DATES AND TIMES:
 

PHASE 1 - SUBMISSIONS OPEN JANUARY 17th, 2026 & SUBMISSIONS CLOSE MARCH 31st, 2026 @11:59pm
 

a) Applicants must complete the submission form, providing accurate personal, artistic, and professional information, including official music and media handles.

b) All submissions will be reviewed and assessed  by a panel of music industry professionals appointed solely by the Executive Producer.

c) Submissions will be assessed based on artistic merit, originality, industry readiness, performance potential, music industry standards  and alignment with the cultural and artistic objectives of Sing For Italy.


d) Assessments are final, binding, and not subject to appeal.

e) SONG & VIDEO SUBMISSIONS
 

Applicants must submit:

  • Two (2) original songs - NO COVERS. An mp3 (320kps) of the songs may be requested at a later date.

  • Lyrics for each song

  • Live performance videos via YouTube links

​

f) ANon-Refundable submission & processing fee of CAD $75 (All Incl.) is required. Submissions will not be evaluated until payment has been successfully received and confirmed.

​

g) The sole determinant of time for the purpose of receipt of a valid entry will be by electronic timestamp, via the "Sing For Italy" platform.
 

h) After all necessary information and assets have been successfully completed, the applicant will receive an email confirmation that submission was successful.

 

PHASE 2 – CANADA: SFI Live Showcase, European Music Industry Introduction, Artist Preparation & Educational Programming (Toronto – Pre-Italy Departure)

June / July 2026 (Dates TBA)
 

a) 10 Standout Artists will be selected to advance to a live SFI Performance Showcase in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and participate in the Full International Music and Heritage Educational Symposium and more.

b) The participants will be selected by a panel of music industry professionals appointed by the Executive Producer: Submissions will be evaluated based on following criteria, in no particular order:

​

  • Songwriting

  • Musicality

  • Performance Quality

  • Originality

  • Stage Presence

  • Online presence, including but not limited to the number of original works released, digital service provider(DSP) activity, and online engagement metrics

  • The applicant’s written explanation of the significance of their Italian heritage and their reasons for seeking participation in Sing For Italy

 

c) The Official announcement of the Ten (10) Selected Artists, will be on the Sing for Italy website www.singforitaly.com and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube channel, TikTok etc)

d) Prior to the public announcement, all selected participating Artists will be contacted individually, via phone and email.

​

e) All applicants that have successfully completed the submission process (including submission fee), and have not been selected as one of the 10 Artists, will have the opportunity to attend all other Sing For Italy programming, at a discounted rate, when booked with a Discount Code provided. Dates and Locations will be confirmed by the Executive Producer.

​

f) From the Sing For Italy Live Showcase, standout artists will be selected by a panel of music industry professionals appointed by the Executive Producer, based on the evaluation criteria and industry standards described herein. The selected artists will participate in the Sing For Italy Music, Heritage, and Performance Extravaganza in Italy and will be announced live at the conclusion of the Live Showcase.

g) EXPENSES: The 10 Standout Artists are responsible for all travel, lodging and attendance expenses to, from and in Canada during the  Sing For Italy Live Showcase and other programming offered to the selected artists.



PHASE 3 – ITALY: PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES, MUSIC & CULTURAL EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS & CULTURAL HERITAGE TOUR
August 26 – September 15, 2026 (Approximate / Subject to Change) Final dates will be formally announced, but they may fluctuate by days one way or the other)

a) The selected Stand Out Artists, will be given an exclusive opportunity to travel to Italy, attend Music Business Educational Symposiums, perform on iconic stages such as, and not limited to The Ariston Theatre in Sanremo, perform in events, participate in an Exclusive Cultural Heritage Experience including Ferrara, Modena, Florence, Rome, Sanremo, and more. 

b) The selected Stand Out Artists must confirm and accept their participation within 7 business days from the date of the Live Showcase.

 

c) Italian Live Performance Requirements: Artists must be able to perform a live 30 minute set, consisting of original music and no more than 2 covers
 
d) The Italian Heritage Experience is an all-expenses paid opportunity, for the selected Stand Out singer-songwriters / solo artists (additional supporting musicians may participate at their own expense), to
fly to Italy, perform and learn more about their Italian heritage.

Return Airfare Toronto/Italy, Italy/Toronto is included, but all other expenses to get to/from Toronto, the final showcase location, accommodations, per diem for meals, ground transportation are the sole responsibility of the participants.

​

e) The Stand Out Artists will benefit from an All-Inclusive Media Campaign in Italy, to ensure that the participants' brand is magnified during their Italian journey.

​

 f) A meticulously crafted Heritage Tour that will allow the participants to explore Italy's rich history, cuisine, and traditions, providing an unparalleled cultural experience and a new found pride of keeping the torch of their Italian roots, burning strong for generations to come.

ARTICLE 4. MATERIAL TO PREPARE

a) Before beginning, be sure to have:

  • 2 Original Songs (No Covers)

  • Lyrics

  • E-mail Address

  • Phone Number (include country and area codes)

  • Live Video of you performing each original song (studio, outdoor, Indoor,stage...) that needs to be shared with the Executive Producer of the program via your official youtube channel. Please note that if you do not want the link to be public, you can upload material to YouTube for private viewing only and provide us with the dedicated link.​

​

b) Before submitting the requested material, a non-refundable submission fee is required to cover administrative costs. Please refer to ARTICLE 3 f)
 

c) Complete the submission form provided by the Executive Producer, before the closing date for entries, March 31st, 2026 by 11:59pm Toronto Canada local time.
 

d) For the "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience," receipt of an Internet entry occurs when the Executive Producers server records the entry information and has received the required Submission fee. All entries must be complete and are subject to verification by the Executive Producer at its sole discretion. 

e) Entries that are late, lost, stolen, illegible, contain false information, damaged, misdirected, mutilated, garbled or incomplete, altered or otherwise irregular or that do not conform with or satisfy any or all of the conditions of "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" rules are void.

​

Live performance video submissions must represent a real, unaltered performance. The use of artificial intelligence (AI), Auto-Tune, pitch correction, voice synthesis, lip-syncing, or any form of digital vocal manipulation is strictly prohibited. All performances must feature the artist’s natural voice, recorded live and in real time. Any entry found to have been modified or enhanced using AI or similar technologies will be disqualified.

ARTICLE 5. AUDIO-VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

​

a) Please provide YouTube links to a YouTube video on the submission form (if private, please give access to info@singforitaly.com)


Failure to comply will cause an unsuccessful attempt to enter your music.
 

b) All submissions MUST be original live video recordings. No lip syncing or overdubs are permitted. The video must show the artist performing in real time, (i.e. actual live footage, live off the floor studio footage, singing or playing into the camera)
 

c) Videos can be filmed by you or by professionals, or of a live performance (clear visual and audio are required)
 

d) Music submissions must NOT CONTAIN any racism, profanity, political or religious slurs, or other inappropriate content, at the discretion of the panel of active music industry professionals and C.H.I.A. Inc.
 

e) The submission can be performed in Italian and/or English.
 

f) All submissions must be original songs and shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Failure to comply may result in disqualification, and in the event of being selected to advance to the next phase, an alternative participant will be selected as a replacement.

g) Songs with
multiple co-writers may designate only one (1) individual as the group’s representative on the entry form. All co-writers must be listed in the section requesting songwriter credits. By submitting an entry, the designated representative confirms and warrants that all co-writers have granted permission for the song’s submission and use in connection with Sing For Italy.
 

h) The submitting artist also agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Executive Producer and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from a failure to obtain proper permission from co-writers or any third party related to the song submission.
 

i) The individual appearing and performing in the Video submission must be the same individual entering the showcase.
 

j) Any attempt or suspected attempt to use robotic, automatic, programmed, or otherwise, illicit means to enter "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience," or any other methods not authorized by these "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" rules, for example, but not limited to, creating multiple accounts, identities, or registrations, all in the Executive Producer sole discretion, shall be deemed as tampering and may disqualify you from entering, participating and/or being Awarded.
 

k) Entries that contain false or incomplete information are void.
 

l) All decisions made by the Executive Producer with respect to the acceptance of any entry and eligibility of entries shall be final and binding. In the event of a dispute concerning any element of the program or its official rules, the decision of the panel of active music industry professionals is FINAL.
 

m) Entrants grant the Executive Producer a non-exclusive license to use all entries for any promotional purpose

 


ARTICLE 6. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
 

a) The Executive Producer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change the structure, timing, duration, or any other aspect of the showcase, or terminate or suspend the showcase at any time without prior notice and liability. In the event of a cancellation by the Executive Producer, entry fees will be refunded.
 

b) INSTRUMENTS: Participants are responsible for bringing and traveling with personal instruments (i.e. guitars, basses, effect pedals, hand percussion, woodwinds, brass, etc.). Standard backline will be provided and must be used by participants -- no substitutions  (i.e. standard 5 piece drum kit, guitar and bass amplifiers, full size keyboard with standard tone generators, microphones and stands, appropriate PA system, sound engineer, etc.)
 

c) CANCELLATION: In the event of cancellation by a participating artist, the participant must promptly notify the Sing For Italy Organization / Executive Producer via email (info@singforitaly.com). 
 

d) The exclusive opportunity is not redeemable for cash and cannot be sold, bartered or transferred to any other person.
 

e) The exclusive opportunity of the Showcase and A Cultural Heritage Experience, are subject to availability, determined in the sole direction of the Executive Producer.

f) The Executive Producer reserves the right to substitute an alternate opportunity of equal or greater value if an advertised opportunity is unavailable at the time of the selection.

 

​g) Before being declared a Selected Artist, the Participant will be required to:

 

  • Sign and return the Executive Producer’s Declaration of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release form (“Showcase and A Cultural Heritage Experience Release”); and
     

  • Comply with all other Showcase & Cultural Heritage Experience rules, all in the sole discretion of the Executive Producer.
     

  • The participants are to formally accept the offer within seven (07) business days of being notified  by email and telephone (correct contact information must be provided at the time of entry submission--up to three (3) attempts will be made within 36 hours following Participant’s selection).
     

  • A Selected Participant that does not or cannot accept the exclusive offer of the Sing For Italy: A cultural Heritage Experience, within said timeframe, will be forfeited and a new Selected Participant will be made by a cross sector panel of Industry professionals, in the Executive Producer’ sole discretion.
     

  • The Ten (10) selected participants that move on to the Live Showcase of the program: Showcase & Education Symposium, will have 7 days time to return the Executive Producer’s Showcase & Cultural Heritage Experience Release form signed, via email, at info@singforitaly.com, from the date of issuance. Failure to do so may result in elimination from the Sing For Italy Program.
     

h) Disputes regarding identity of the Participant: If the identity of a Selected Participant is disputed, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the Authorized Account Holder (the individual assigned to the e-mail address or, if applicable for entry, social media handle associated with the entry). Each Selected Participant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the Authorized Account Holder associated with the selected entry. 

i) Participation in Sing For Italy (SFI) does not create any agency, booking, or touring representation relationship. SFI and Celebrating Heritage in the Arts (C.H.I.A.) Inc. are not a tour booking agency and do not represent participants for the purpose of securing independent or ongoing live engagements.

 

As part of the program experience, SFI may organize and facilitate a limited number of curated live performance opportunities exclusively within the scope of the program. These performances are program-specific and do not constitute touring representation, booking services, or negotiated engagements beyond the program’s defined activities.
 

SFI and C.H.I.A. Inc. are not obligated to secure additional performances, tours, or commercial engagements beyond those expressly included as part of the program experience.

Program-related live performances are subject to venue availability, scheduling, and local regulations and may be modified, rescheduled, or replaced with equivalent program activities where necessary.

ARTICLE 7.
RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION, AND VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION


By entering Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience, all participants acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following.

Participants who advance to Phase 3 and travel to Italy will also be required to sign the Executive Producer’s Showcase & Cultural Heritage Experience Release, which further obligates participants to:

a) Compliance – Participants confirm they have read, understood, and will comply with all program rules and requirements.

b) Acceptance of Opportunity – Participants agree to accept the program experience as presented, including performances, workshops, travel, and cultural activities.

 

c) Voluntary Participation and Assumption of Risk – Each participant acknowledges that their participation is entirely voluntary and undertaken at their own risk. The Executive Producer, its affiliates, and all related parties shall not be responsible or liable for any injury, loss, damage, or other claims of any kind arising from or related to participation in the program, including but not limited to travel, performances, workshops, accommodations, or use of participant materials.
 

d) Release and Waiver – Participants release, discharge, and hold harmless the Executive Producer and all related parties (including departments, affiliates, subsidiaries, franchisees, sponsors, partners, licensees, advertising and promotional agencies, marketing partners, legal counsel, directors, officers, employees, agents, and advisors, collectively the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses, known or unknown, arising from or in connection with participation in the program or use of participant submissions.
 

e) Indemnification – Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any loss, damage, cost, or expense (including legal fees) incurred as a result of:

​

  • Failure to comply with the program rules;

  • Any non-compliance by an entrant with the “Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience” Rules;

  • Participation in the program;

  • Acceptance, use, or exercise of any program opportunity; and/or

  • Use of the participant’s entry or materials by the Executive Producer.

​

​f) Scope of Release – This release and indemnification includes, but is not limited to, claims arising from negligence, breach of contract, acts of God, third-party failures, or any dissatisfaction with the program or opportunity.

​

ARTICLE 8. THE EXECUTIVE PRODUCER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:
 

a) Incorrect or inaccurate entry information which may affect a person’s ability to participate in the "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" or be given the opportunity , including but not limited to human error, technical malfunctions, lost or delayed entries for any reason, mail failures, omission, or any combination thereof, and entries which fail to fully comply with these "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" Rules;


b) Technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software;

c) Lost, incomplete, delayed, mutilated or misdirected entries or Declaration and Release forms;

d) Injury or damage to the Participants computer or to any other individual’s computer related to or resulting from participating in, or downloading any material regarding the "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" or accepting an opportunity;

 

e) Any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" or receipt or use or misuse of any opportunity, including any travel related thereto and the use of the Entry by the Executive Producer;

f) The security or privacy of information transmitted via computer networks or for breaches of privacy due to interference by third party computer “hackers” or otherwise; or

g) late, lost, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify a potential selected participant /Artist.
 


ARTICLE 9. OTHER CONDITIONS:
 

The Executive Producer reserves the right to terminate or amend any aspect of at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" is not capable of running as originally planned for any reason, the Executive Producer reserves the right to cancel the selections and conduct a random draw from all previously received eligible entries received by the program End Date.

ARTICLE 10. PUBLICITY AND ENTRANT INFORMATION:
 

By participating in this "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience," the Participants consent to the use of their name, address, e-mail address, postal code, telephone number, social media handles, comments and image, whether on videotape, photograph or any other means, for the administration of this "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" or any publicity carried out by the Executive Producer, without further notice or compensation.



ARTICLE 11. LAW:
 

The "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, territorial, municipal and local laws. This "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the province of Ontario, including all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" Rules, rights and obligations between Participants and the Executive Producer, and procedural provisions, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. Any dispute shall be adjudicated by the courts sitting in Toronto, Ontario.



ARTICLE 12. RULE AMENDMENTS:
 

The Executive Producer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to amend or modify these "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" Rules, or modify, cancel or suspend this "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience,” without prior notice for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation in the event that any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Executive Producer corrupts, or threatens to corrupt, the security or proper administration of the "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience."



ARTICLE 13. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY:
 

a) All intellectual property, including but not limited to trademarks, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source codes, images, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by the Executive Producer. All rights are reserved. 
 

b) Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or other intellectual property without the express written consent of the Executive Producer is strictly prohibited. The Executive Producer’s marketing or other partners, if any, shall also have access to and rights to reproduce, copy or otherwise use any materials generated by this "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience" or any submissions or materials generated by the Participants.
 

c) Each participant retains ownership of the audio and/or video performance they submit to the Executive Producer.
 

d) The participant agrees that they have obtained permission from any individual  appearing in the audio and/or visual performance.
 

e) Irrevocably grants the Executive Producer and panel of active music industry professionals permission to share, but not limited to, the participant’s name, image, audio and video submission  performances, statements, biographical material, and interviews on the Sing For Italy website and social media platforms for promotional Purposes only".
 

f) By entering the Sing For Italy Live Showcase, the artist  agrees to grant the Executive Producer and panel of music industry professionals to use your personal information for the purpose of administering the "Sing For Italy: A Cultural Heritage Experience."

g)
The 10 Selected Stand Out Artists – advancing to the Sing For Italy Live Showcase will be required to sign a separate waiver acknowledging that:
 

  • Their participation is voluntary and at their own risk; and

  • The Executive Producer is granted permission to use their name, likeness, image, voice, and biographical information for promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes in connection with the program.
